After finishing my Sport Science undergrad degree, it was only natural for me to down the sport performance path. Being undisciplined and lacking the skill to play competitive sports growing up. I still having a competitive edge to my personality, I really wanted to help athletes to succeed. Once I matured into an adult and throughout University I found through my own training that discipline and consistency were the pillars of a good training program.
Throughout my career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach my athletes taught me a tremendous amount about having humility and being vulnerable. I’ve ridden a wave of success early in my career, being lucky enough to be apart of a premiership winning teams. My ego fed me a lie that it was because of the strength and conditioning programs I had put into place. Four years after and many lessons learned I look back and what I told myself back then was an utter lie. Now a fitness program may be a key factor to success it isn’t the only one.
Coaching athletes has presented me with an opportunity to share with people the best and worst parts of my life. Showing everyone that it is ok to fail just as it is ok to celebrate success has become an instrumental tool in my quest to help people lead healthier and happier lives. By staying committed to these principles, by sharing my own vulnerabilities, I hope to connect to a wider audience.
You know you have found your passion when it allows you to live out your essence daily. Sharing, leading, discipline, vulnerability and consistency this is the mantra that drives my career and pushes me to excel. I coach because my life feels right when I’m leading by example and stay disciplined. I coach and write about my experiences I’ve learnt from coaching people because sharing with others and giving is what ultimately allows me to receive from the world. Owning my vulnerabilities and facing them in the public eye is what allows me to persevere and grow.
